Candy Fights Crime!

I’m a little hazy on the facts, but apparently two men have been arrested for their part in a summer bank robbery after law enforcement found a DNA match on a chewed piece of candy, according to the Winston-Salem Journal in Virginia.  First off, who chews a piece of candy and doesn’t swallow it?  I guess that’s what I’m a little foggy on.  Did one of them start eating it and then spit it out?  I don’t know. Candy Gets Another Person In Trouble With The Law

An Arizona lawyer was arrested because he gave his client a piece of candy in court.  Seems the lawyer asked two detention officers if it was OK that he give his shackled client a piece of candy.  He was warned not to, but did it anyway, telling them “what are you going to do, arrest me?”  And apparently the answer to that question would be yes. Selling Candy To Pay For Lunch

When I was growing up, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, you sold candy bars from school because your class wanted to do something…a trip somewhere or a day of roller staking or something.  That’s kinda changed now to the point where selling candy bars (and other stuff) is used as a general fundraiser for just about anything.  But in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, it’s gone one step further.  Students of the Pardee Elementary School can pay for their lunches by selling candy bars. Another Candy and Crime Post

I never knew candy was such a magnet for criminal activity until I started this blog.  Oh sure, when we were kids there was a good chance of us trying to steal the occasional piece of candy.  But these are adults!  Maybe I should add a category on the blog for “Crimes”.  Anyway, I got yet another story of crime involving candy, this one from Liberty Township, Ohio.
