Super Bowl Contest, Questions, And An Update

Snickers is still doing their stupid little Snickers language. Sorry, I don’t get it. I mean, I understand it, but I don’t like it. But nobody asked me. They’re carrying it on though through their Snickers NFL 2009 Sweepstakes contest where you could be a Super Bowl Chompion. Get it? Chompion instead of champion. Ho ho!! Hee hee! What am I, 5 years old? At any rate, grab a specially marked Snickers, enter a code, cross your fingers. Full rules at the web site, including how to enter without buying a Snickers.

I also updated the Candy Comments page on the main site. And maybe you can help me with a couple candy question.

Andrew from Ottawa, Ontario, asked:

I haven’t been apply to find (Sidekick) anywhere for the past 2 years, iam wondering if its still available in Ottawa, its the best chocolate bar of all time so I really hope its still out there, let me know if it is and if it isn’t can you let me know why???

I’ve gotten at least one other question about the Sidekick in the past. It’s not listed on Hershey’s Canadain web site. I found a dedicated Hershey’s Sidekick site from Hershey, but it’s blank. If you’ve been looking for 2 years and can’t find it, it’s probably gone. Why? It’s almost always sales not meeting expectations. Sorry.

Also, Laurie from Phoenix asked:

Ice Cubes were readily available when I was growing up in the Pacific Northwest. We always got a tub for Christmas, a tradition continued after I grew up, thanks to my husband. I’ve lived in other parts of the U.S. over the past several years and NEVER see Ice Cubes in stores! I’m disinclined to buy a tub by mail and would love to find them locally. On your site, numerous stores are offered that may carry them but I don’t think any are available here in Phoenix, including Cracker Barrel. If anyone has a lead on retailers that stock them, I’d love to hear about it!

Anybody know of a reliable place to get Ice Cubes in the Phoenix area? Maybe one of those warehouse type stores? I also learned from Candy Blog that Ice Cubes have a low melting point. Maybe it’s just too hot in Phoenix for them to survive? I don’t know.
