I Did a Bad Bad Thing

Everything in moderation, right? I try. I really do. But I can’t with candy. I really need to start exercising and cutting back. It’s true what they say…so much harder to get into shape the older you are. So what I did yesterday did not help. No, not at all.

Tuesday, I went to Wal Mart and lucky for me, by then their leftover Halloween candy really sucked. It was 50% off, but it was crap like candy corn and something called caramel corn. Apparently, I’m behind the times as these things have been out since at least 2007. No problem passing it up. Good for me.

But I forgot about my local Giant Eagle grocery store and their unhealthy (for me) habit of ordering waaaaay too much Halloween candy. I stopped there yesterday, a full 5 days after Halloween. And they had lots left. And we’re talking the good stuff. And it was all a dollar or less each. Oh, that’s not good.

Not being sure of the actual price because there were a couple different signs, I just took a couple bags. Made my way through the self serve check out and confirmed that it was all, indeed, a dollar and under. I went out to my car, put my bags down, and went back for more. ::sigh:: So weak. So so weak. Like you wouldn’t do the same?

So, here’s what I got and the price:

  • 11.3 oz bag of Almond Joy snack size bars (for Laurie…99 cents)
  • Three 11.18 oz bags of fun size Snickers ($1 each)
  • Three 11.24 oz bags of Milky Way ($1 each)
  • 10.78 oz bag of Kit Kats ($1)
  • 8.67 oz bag of fun size Peanut Butter M&M’s (mainly for Laurie…94 cents)
  • Two 12.6 oz bags of Halloween M&M’s (94 cents each)
  • Two 12.6 oz bags of Halloween Peanut M&M’s (94 cents each)

See..there’s where I messed up. I LOVE M&M’s and should have bought more. I’ve yet to tell Laurie. She won’t be happy. But some are for work. And I’m thinking of going back tonight, but they didn’t have many M&M’s left. Tons of Milky Way bags though.
