10,000-Square-Foot Candylicious Opens in Dubai

Well, I already wrote about Dubai once, so why not again? Candylicious, a 10,000-square-foot candy store, recently opened there after ten months of planning.

They call themselves “the largest candy store in the world”, with pillars embedded with candy, a 30-foot wide “chocolate” tree covered with lollipops, and a Candylicious airplane hanging from the ceiling.

The store features American specialty confections, along with the usual US brands like Hershey Kisses and chocolate bars, M&M’s, and more. They may be mainstream in the US, but they’re considered specialties abroad. They also have every flavor of Jelly Belly jelly beans and an old fashion soda fountain.

According to a spokesperson, their mission is “to remind people how simple pleasures are always the best and the best simple pleasure in life is candy.” So true. They are planning a second location in Singapore and hope to open a total of 10 to 15 stores over the next 3 to 5 years.
