Candy Solves Another Crime
I love stories like this. A man from Woodburn, Oregon, has been convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for a home invasion type burglary. A piece of candy was his downfall.
Back in January, residents of a home in Sherwood, Oregon, woke up when they heard loud bangs and the sound of footsteps downstairs. When police arrived, they found that someone had broken in and stolen a 40-inch TV. They searched the area, but couldn’t find the guy.
They did find a piece of candy in the backyard. These stories never say what kind of candy. That’s what interests me. What candy are these guys not finishing? Why wouldn’t you finish it? Anyway, they sent the candy to the crime lab and got a DNA match. The guy was involved in several other home invasions and was facing multiple charges when they agreed on the ten years.
Nice police work and nice job by the unnamed candy. Perhaps the candy wanted to remain anonymous. Maybe it’s in the witness protection program now.
