Cyber Monday and Dark Chocolate Reese’s

Happy Black Friday!  I’m writing this from the comfort of my home.  No, I am not venturing out with all the mad shoppers, but Laurie and I do have to swing by one of her co-workers house and check in on her cat while she’s away. While we’re out, there is talk of going to the cheapie movie theater and seeing The Invention of Lying. 99 cent movies. Can’t beat it. The theater is in a mall-type setting, but one of those malls that’s barely surviving and it won’t be until this afternoon so we should be good.

I’ve written a few posts where I said I was afraid for the Dark Chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups because I couldn’t find them at my local Walmart. I now think my local Walmart sucks when it comes to candy. Laurie and I were out the other day and stopped at K-Mart. I was checking out the candy aisle when I saw a six-pack of Dark Chocolate Reese’s…the full size Reese’s. I bought them because I can’t seem to find them anymore. Then when we went through the checkout, there they were, on sale 3 for $2. The six-pack was still cheaper, so I bought them. Then we went to Target and they had them for 52 cents each. Shoot…that would have been cheaper than my 6-pack.

My point being that my local Walmart does not sell them anymore. And I mentioned before how they had the Coconut M&M’s (wrapper to be added soon) behind the glass with the cigarettes so I had to ask for a couple of packs. And now I notice the Fudge Snickers (also to be added soon) are the same, although they were out in the open for a little while and I did grab a couple. Target used to be a great place to get the Limited Edition candies, but no more. K-Mart was OK, but I’m finding it harder and harder to find a good source.

One more note…this Monday is known as Cyber Monday…the busiest online shopping day of the year. I meant to mention this before, but my sponsor, Old Time Candy Company, is offering free shipping on any order $25 and above. Just click this link and use coupon code cyber09. This promotion is good for anything they sell and for an unlimited number of orders, but cannot be combined with any of their other coupons. Old Time Candy Company specializes in candy you thought was no longer available, and they also sell modern favorites. Candy is an awesome present, especially when you get something from your childhood that you thought was no longer being made. Check it out!
