Well, put some butter on me because I’m on a roll. The Candy Comments page has been updated today. Finally got a lot of things updated this week. I’d promise to try to do updates more rapidly, but I know I won’t be able to keep that promise.

Happy Black Friday! I’m writing this from the comfort of my home. No, I am not venturing out with all the mad shoppers, but Laurie and I do have to swing by one of her co-workers house and check in on her cat while she’s away. While we’re out, there is talk of going to the cheapie movie theater and seeing The Invention of Lying. 99 cent movies. Can’t beat it. The theater is in a mall-type setting, but one of those malls that’s barely surviving and it won’t be until this afternoon so we should be good. (more…)

Snickers is still doing their stupid little Snickers language. Sorry, I don’t get it. I mean, I understand it, but I don’t like it. But nobody asked me. They’re carrying it on though through their Snickers NFL 2009 Sweepstakes contest where you could be a Super Bowl Chompion. Get it? Chompion instead of champion. Ho ho!! Hee hee! Makers of one of my all time favorite candy bars, Snickers, Mars Snackfood is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren County. They will provide mentoring services to the Great Meadows Regional School District. Mars employees that volunteer will devote one lunch hour a week spending time with their assigned child by playing games, just talking, or hanging out. Seems like a cool way for people to give back. Maybe you could suggest that your work place do something like this…there are Big Brothers Big Sisters programs all across the country…or maybe volunteer at another organization. (more…)
