Another advantage of me keeping up this web site is you notice small things. I was staring at the vending machine at work trying to decide what to get and I thought the Reese's wrapper looked different. So I bought it. I checked out the wrapper I posted before and sure enough, the wrapper is different. It has swirls in it now instead of solid orange. But then I looked closer. They're smaller!! The 'old' wrapper is listed as 1.6 oz (45 grams). The new wrapper shows 1.5 oz (42 grams). Not a lot, but when you consider the vast amount of Reese's that are sold, it adds up. Of course, this is nothing new. For years, companies have been reducing the amount of the product rather than increase the price. This wrapper was bought in May, 2004. Update in August, 2009...a lot of people are sending me comments saying stuff like "can you believe they're even smaller now?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I just had one and it was only .55 ounces!! What a rip!!!!". The .55 ounce cups are the "Fun" size version of a Reese's. They come individually wrapped. Don't worry. The standard size of a regular package of Reese's is still 1.5 ounces (as of this writing).

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, now smaller, Party Favors, and Toys from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s
